Personal Microderm is a revolutionary at-home skincare tool that provides the same brilliant results as professional, in-office microdermabrasion treatments

Easy-to-use weekly treatments reveal smoother, brighter more youthful looking skin.

Combines Patented Spinning Disc technology with Perfectly Calibrated Vacuum Suction to leave skin looking fresh and radiant. Weekly treatments reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and enlarged pores.

Patented Spinning Discs embedded with aluminum oxide crystals exfoliate away dead, dull cells from the surface of the skin. By removing this dead skin cell barrier, new cell growth is stimulated and glowing youthful skin is revealed.

Perfectly Calibrated Vacuum Suction is the power behind effective microdermabrasion. Suction increases circulation and triggers the skin’s natural healing process which boosts collagen and elastin leaving skin firm, fresh and radiant.

Personal Microderm removes the top layer of dead, dull skin cells. Once this barrier is removed, skin care products can penetrate 20X deeper maximizing the benefits of skin care.

At PMD we promise that after your first Personal Microderm treatment, you will have smoother, softer skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microdermabrasion?
A: Microdermabrasion is a procedure that uses suction and exfoliation to remove the outermost layer of dead skin (Stratum Corneum).  By removing this top layer, fresh, younger looking skin is produced in its place.
What is PMD Personal Microderm?
A: The Personal Microderm  is an at-home tool that brings you the same results as professional microdermabrasion treatments.  The Personal Microderms’s exfoliation and vacuum suction uncover younger skin through:
Patented spinning disc technology embedded with aluminum oxide crystals gently removes the top layer of dull, dead skin, referred to as the Stratum Corneum.  These dead skin cells act as a barrier on the skin, and once they are removed, skincare products will be fully absorbed into the skin, resulting in maximum benefits.
–The tool’s vacuum suction helps stimulate, activate, and rejuvenate the skin. This suction also triggers the body’s production of collagen and elastin and it increases the skin’s cell renewal.  An increased cell renewal is important because it generates new, healthy skin cells that are brighter, softer, and smoother.

Who should use the Personal Microderm?
A: All skin types. If you are receiving care from a Physician please consult with them. The Personal Microderm is recommended for any individual looking for smoother, softer and brighter skin. Customize your treatment from ultra sensitive to very intense. The Personal Microderm reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, hyperpigmentation, blemishes, pores size, and uneven skin tone and texture.

When can I expect to see results?
A: We promise that after your first treatment you will have softer smoother skin. The Personal Microderm uses science not magic. After eight to twelve weeks of consistent use, individual may see a reduced appearance of fine line and wrinkles, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation.

How should I use the Personal Microderm in conjunction with my skin care regime?
A: Step 1:Cleanse the skin, and allow it to dry completely. We recommend using the PMD Soothing Antioxidant Cleanser.
Step 2: Use the Personal Microderm tool. Remember to watch the instructional video and carefully follow all directions.
Step 3: Apply a toner. We recommend using the PMD Calming Balancing Toner.
Step 4: Apply a moisturizer daily. We recommend using the PMD Anti-Aging Recovery Moisturizer.
What is the difference between Personal Microderm, Clarisonic, and a scrub?
A: The Clarisonic is a mechanical brush used to cleanse the skin on a daily basis.  The Personal Microderm is a once a week microdermabrasion treatment that exfoliates and removes the top layer of dead skin. Both are great and perform a very different function. If you like the Clarisonic you will love Personal Microderm. A scrub may exfoliate but does not use vacuum suction. Some scrubs claim or include microdermabrasion in the name or marketing. Remember the true microdermabrasion uses vacuum suction

What is on top of the Discs? Is it safe?
A:Each patented disc is hand dipped in Aluminum Oxide crystals. Aluminum Oxide is the same material that is used for microdermabrasion in many doctor’s offices. It is completely safe, innocuous, and non-toxic. It does not cause adverse skin reactions and is not carcinogenic. Because of this, Aluminum Oxide crystals are ideal for microdermabrasion and are the most popular choice of professionals.

How do I know if it is safe and time to increase the intensity of the discs?
(I.e. move from the white disc to the grey discs, from the blue disc to the green discs, or from the green to the red?”])

Everyone’s skin is different.  Some sensitive skin types may never need to increase their exfoliation level by moving to a different disc color; others with more coarse skin will need to change to a higher disc level to see more significant results.  Ultimately, the disc color used depends on your treatment goals. If you want a more intense treatment and if your skin has adjusted to the Personal Microderm, try a more intense  disc.  However, we recommend everyone begins their first treatment by using the white training disc.  If your skin responds well, that is a good indication that you can move on to the grey disc the following week. Each week you can move to the next level based on how intense you want your treatment.
After at least several weeks using the blue discs without being too intense, you may want to gradually begin incorporating the green discs into your treatments. After several more weeks, coarse skin types may carefully begin using red discs, which are extremely intense. Always remember to gradually and carefully increase the intensity with the disc colors; if you are too intense with your exfoliation, you may create red marks or scabbing. This may happen if you do not follow the instructions (stall, press hard, pass the skin more than once or use the wrong disc).

How long will each disc last?
A: Each discs will last 3-4 uses. Most treatments will last three to five minutes. The size of the area being treated and the length of each treatment will ultimately determine how long a disc can be used.
Can you get close to your eyes?
A: No. Only treat the skin on the perimeter of the eye socket. You will still see great results even though you do not directly treat the skin below the brow bone or above the eye bone. See our “Before and After” page for examples of results.

Does Personal Microderm remove hair?
A: No. The Personal Microderm tool is just designed to exfoliate your skin, the tool will not remove hair.
Do I apply pressure when using the Personal Microderm?
A: No pressure is necessary. Instead, just lightly glide the tool over your skin. Watch our video here for more information.
What happens if you apply too much pressure?
A: When too much pressure is applied, the Personal Microderm may exfoliate beyond the dead skin layer. This may result in redness or light scabbing. The vacuum suction of Personal Microderm is calibrated perfectly to  remove the dead dull skin. Do not apply pressure.

Can I use Personal Microderm more than once a week?
A:No. The Personal Microderm should only be used once a week. Microderm removes the top layer of dead dull skin and your body needs one week to rejuvenate. Be patient. Use it consistently and you will see results.
Do I need to do anything in between treatments?
A: Yes, continue with your daily skincare regime. For best results, we recommend using our Daily Cell Regeneration System (cleanser, toner, and moisturizer) both morning and night.
What if my Personal Microderm doesn’t have suction?
A:Here are some common trouble-shooting guides:

  1. Double check to ensure cap is tight. Screw cap on as tightly as possible creating a tight seal between the black rubber O-ring and the cap..
  2. Make sure your filter is clean. Wash after each use.
  3. Check the black rubber O-ring. This black rubber ring is replaceable. You can remove it and rinse it with mild soap and water. This ring is important to create a tight seal with the cap which ensures good vacuum suction.
  4. Tighten the cap as TIGHT as possible.  If the cap is not tight enough, the seal will be broken and there won’t be any suction.

What If I don’t see dead skin coming off while using the Personal Microderm?
A: Not everyone will see the dead skin residue, as shown on our demo videos, after using the Personal Microderm. This does not mean that the Personal Microderm is not working. The amount of residue you see following your treatment is based on your skin type and the climate you live in; more oily skin types and those living in humid climates may not see any dead skin residue. The Personal Microderm is still working—so long as you make sure the disc is positioned high enough in your Personal Microderm for contact with the skin to occur.

What happens if I get red marks, minor bruising, scrapes, or scabs after using the Personal Microderm?
A: Some of our customers have found that if the device is held too long in one spot or the skin is extra sensitive it could cause dermabrasion, a treatment performed by specialists where deeper layers of skin are removed. It is possible that you have areas of dermabrasion. To help these areas to heal and regenerate properly, we would suggest the following:

  • Cleanse the skin to avoid infection
  • Keep the area moist to promote healing
  • Avoid sun exposure and, after skin has healed, use sunscreen every day. New skin is more susceptible to sun damage.
  • Your skin should heal normally in 5 to 7 days.

When your skin has healed and regenerated, and you are comfortable in doing another treatment, you should be able to continue on. We would suggest that you:

  • Move down to a lower disc ( white training disc, grey sensitive) always perform a test strip on your inner forearm or behind your ear before moving on to the treatment on your face
  • Make sure that you move the device smoothly over each area just one time, and do not press down onto the skin, rather let the suction pull your skin to the disc
  • Hold the skin tight to allow the Personal Microderm to glide across your skin.
  • Keep skin clean, moisturized, and protected from the sun.
Who should not use the Personal Microderm?
A: Anyone using chemical peels or products containing acids including hydroxy acids, malic acid, lactic acid AND/OR  retinoids or retin A ingredients, must not use the Personal Microderm  at the same time! This may cause skin to be too sensitive and use of the Personal Microderm is not recommended. Before it is safe to use the Personal Microderm, you must discontinue use of these products for at least seven days. Consult your doctor or dermatologist if you are unsure that the Personal Microderm is suitable for your skin.
